Learners who have successfully completed this qualification can progress on to foundation degrees in Accounting, and also to qualifications for chartered accountants.

Keeping It is aimed at people who work in supervisory roles in the cleaning sector and who want an industry-specific qualification that recognizes and develops their knowledge and skills in the workplace. It is designed for learners who have worked in hospitality for some time and have some experience supervising others or managing resources. It will enable learners to develop their knowledge and skills, to progress their career in the hospitality sector and perhaps to move into a management role within the hospitality sector.

This is a work-based qualification, which will allow learners to develop the generic competence and understanding essential for working in a supervisory role within the hospitality sector, such as setting objectives and provide support for team members, contributing to the control of resources, leading a team to improve customer service, developing working relationships with colleagues and maintaining the health, hygiene, safety and security of the working environment.

Learners are required to take all mandatory units which cover the generic competence and understanding needed to carry out their supervisory job role. They then have a choice of optional units covering the supervision of a range of hospitality and catering operations, as well as units that cover a range of general activities within the hospitality and catering environment.
